Bangalore
Bangalore, India, the city where I currently live in. Bangalore is one of the bigger cities in India with a population approaching 6 million people. It is located in Southern India on the edge of the Deccan plateau. This gives the city a relatively cool climate throughout most of the year. The summers here usually last from March to May. Come June, the monsoon season arrives with an abudance of daily rain and cooler weather. Winter doesn't get very cold at all with temperatures only reaching a low of around the 50's during the night.

Your description is a much needed counterpoint to the stereotyped image of a poor country with ragged, starving people and a very low standard of living. It's wonderful to read such a beautiful and loving portrayal of India as home.
ReplyDeleteBangalore sounds absolutely wonderful. The winters sound somewhat close to the temperatures in Vegas but I would love to have some rain here. They used to call our summers a monsoon season but we haven't had anything compared to a monsoon in a very long time. My friend is from India and she always gives me different things to eat and try. Though most of the food she gives me is a bit too spicy for my taste, it is still very good.
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit Bangalore, India. From your description, it sounds like a definite travel site for many tourists.
